Phil Ruthven of Titusville Florida is our first January 2012 featured artist. Phil has been engraving and carving out beautiful artistry since April 2011. We have watched Phil grow into a master carver since that time. He has remained determined to create an artistry unique to himself, and as you see from these pictures he was done just that. The Calligraphy font you see in many of these pieces, Phil has done completely FREE HAND! He uses no cheat sheets and for this reason he can sit anywhere with his Shofu Engraving equipment, and create beautiful art. In the Center, Skyler and McKenzie, these are 2 laptops that belong to a sister and brother in Florida. They wanted their laptops personalized and Phil did the engraving for them on the lid of each laptop. How AWESOME! I am certain these kids were very happy with their personalized computers.
The perfume bottle "Happy Birthday Mom" is a beautiful gift for any mom. He took an already beautiful little perfume bottle, and adorned it with a beautiful sentiment for mom. The wine bottles and wine glasses are just a few of Phil's pieces. Phil recently was commissioned by Disney World to sit for 3 hours, personalizing stones with childrens names. In 3 hours, Phil stated he engraved over 300 stones for some very happy children.
We thank you Phil for sharing your artistry with us for nearly a year now. We are so excited for you as you continue growing in your beautiful artistry. In February you will see a new twist to Phil's artwork (so don't miss it because I already have seen this piece and it truly is the work of a Master Engraver)

This beautiful wood artistry was submitted by Bryan Wickens of Tasmania, Australia. YES, in that bowl those are woodn eggs! Bryan says he has been creating beautiful wood art for several years. The Chicken Egg carving is new for him (but again even in the Chicken eggs you can see Bryan's unique artistry coming to life) Don't you just love the wooden mushroom bouquet?
We met Bryan in March 2011 when he purchased the Shofu engraving equipment from us. He is soon to retire and hopes to really get going with his egg carving. We certainly look forward to his future pictures. All of his art is so amazing. Each piece has a unique flair of its own. Thank you again Bryan for sharing your art with us, we look forward to future pictures as you begin your new adventures in egg carving.
